As a Licensed Professional Counselor I provide guidance and clinical expertise as you begin to understand yourself better regarding emotional experiences as a way to make sense of your thoughts and behaviors. I will work with you to deepen insight, promote healing, improve skills and confront unhelpful patterns in behaviors and relationships.
I understand that traumas can cause lifelong disturbances in emotional reactivity and regulation. I can teach you to learn the practice of self-calming through cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practice and other complementary therapeutic approaches.
When we live our lives without congruence, there is dissatisfaction, depression, anger, sadness and anxiety or feeling overwhelmed. While we cannot change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to understand better and resolve challenges in your life now. We will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that are holding you back from experiencing a more grounded and meaningful life.
I hope to accompany you on your journey and strive to offer a safe and trusting space to allow healing to occur. I also bring warmth, compassion, empathy, experience, and at times a much-needed sense of humor to my work. Laughter…and tears can provide a healing release as you work through challenging emotions.
